Submission Rules

Okay, I've started receiving stories in the mail, and I've come to the conclusion that I need a new system. So, here it is. If you send me a story and I find that you have done or not done one of these, I will not post your story.

You may send fics to me via my email account, starfire@accessone.com. I prefer to avoid attached files, so pasting your story into the letter works just fine. THE SUBJECT OF THIS EMAIL MUST BEGIN WITH FANFIC FOR ME TO FIND IT. Then, I want the title of your fanfic. So, the subject heading of an email with a fic should be "Fanfic: Mirrors" or whatever your title is. I have a short memory, and go a long time between updates, so I will not be able to find your fic if you do not head it properly.

You do not need to send me html files. In fact, since I retype all of the code myself, it actually takes more time for me to format html files than text. However, if you use any kind of symbols to represent emphasis, i. e. _underscoring_, *stars*, >brackets<, -hyphens-, etc, please write me a note at the top of each chapter. I use the search and replace function on Microsoft Word to do my reformatting, and that emphasis will be lost if you do not warn me.

At the top of the first chapter or story that you send me, please put the name that you want posted on your story, the title of the story, a brief synopsis of the story, and if your story contains any material not suitable for some audiences. This does not mean that I won'd post it; I just need to be able to put up a warning for those people who don't wish to read that kind of thing. You'd be surprised at the stories where I've had to ask for the name of the story, and the name of the author. Also, let me know if you have a home page, and I'll link back to you.

I also reserve the right to run your story through spellcheck and grammar check. I will not make any major changes to the story, like rewriting anything, but I will change plurals and tenses if they are not correct. If you have a problem with this system, do it yourself so you know it is done right. I highly recommend Microsoft Word 97 or whatever.

At this point, I have no rules other than these. I do not judge the value of others' work, and refuse to post their stories; I will take almost anything, as long as it is not offensive. I will not take lemons, though. There are places that specialize in that sort of thing; they'll be happy to take any lemons that you may write.
